Ošljak is a small island off Preko in Zadar County, and on it stands the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It interests visitors because it is an early Christian oratory that was reworked in the Middle Ages.
The outer appearance is modest: a rectangular shape with a projecting semicircular apse, a gabled roof and a tall bell gable on the facade. The corners of the south wall are supported by sloping buttresses, and the round apse is articulated by three shallow lesenes. In the 10th and 11th centuries two piers each were inserted into the space, so the interior is divided into three bays with a groin vault, while the apse is covered by a half-dome. Under the bell gable the coat of arms of Archbishop L. Venier, from the years 1428-1449, is built in.
A protected cultural property, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-1334.
