Ethnozone Risika - Dolinje Selo

Risika is a place in the municipality of Vrbnik (Primorje-Gorski Kotar County), and its hamlet Dolinje Selo forms an ethnozone, a rural ensemble with its surroundings. It is of interest to a visitor who wants to see a traditional hamlet of Krk and its agricultural surroundings.

The settlement was founded in the 13th century or earlier, and by position and name it is among the earliest settlements that arose with the arrival of the Croats on the island. The small house plans indicate that they date from the 18th century or earlier. A special feature is the large number of farm buildings covered with plants, both within the settlement and on its edge, by which it is recognised as a typical rural ensemble of the Krk area. The compactness of the settlement set against the clearly arranged arable zone gives it the importance of one of the island's ethnographic zones, as well as of the Vrbnik castle.

A protected cultural property, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code RRI-0379-1975.
