Meje is a city district of Split, in Split-Dalmatia County, and its coastal strip along the Ivan Meštrović Promenade is protected. A walk along this stretch by the sea is interesting because it shows how urban design is joined to its setting.
Besides the pleasant surroundings, the urban qualities of this area also stand out. In the eastern part of the south side of the street a row of trees gives shade, and beside it runs a wall of finely worked stone with a stone coping that separates the gardens from the street; it is interrupted only by entrances of decent form. On undeveloped plots the wall is broken and these parts are neglected and urbanistically undefined. Also valuable are the carefully made fences of the representative southern gardens, from which stone steps lead to the seaside promenade; the Ferić and Tresić-Pavičić houses are mentioned.
A protected cultural property, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5329.
