Church of Saints Cosmas and Damian, Gornji Humac

On the top of the hill of Smrečevik, on the south side of Brač, stands the pre-Romanesque church of Saints Cosmas and Damian. It belongs to Gornji Humac, in the municipality of Pučišća, in Split-Dalmatia County. Visitors climb here for the position and the very old sacred form.

It is single-nave, with a semicircular apse, built of rubble stone with plenty of mortar, and covered by a gabled roof of stone slabs. At the top of the main façade is a simple stone bell gable. The interior is covered by a barrel vault and divided by three niches on each side wall, which end at the bottom in a small bench. On the half-dome of the apse the remains of Baroque wall paintings have been preserved.

The church is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5906.
