Church of St George, Kokorići

The church of St George in Kokorići, in the town of Vrgorac, is a peaceful village church with a cemetery and a valuable altar painting. It attracts visitors as an example of the sacred heritage of the Vrgorac area. It is located in Split-Dalmatia County.

It was built at the end of the 17th or beginning of the 18th century. It is single-nave, with a rectangular ground plan and a rectangular apse, and oriented east-west. Inside are three altars and a painting by the painter Filippo Naldi depicting St George and two saintly figures. Around the church is a cemetery that probably originated in the 17th and 18th centuries, but it is possible that some burials are older.

The church is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-4006.
