The parish church of the Holy Spirit rises in Vrbanj on the island of Hvar. It is interesting to visitors as an example of a three-aisled 18th-century church with later alterations. It belongs to the town of Stari Grad in Split-Dalmatia County.
It was consecrated in 1793, and the bell tower was added in 1900. Square pilasters and semicircular arches divide the space into three aisles; the central aisle is covered with a pointed vault, and the side ones with groin vaults. The apse is square. In more recent times the façade was altered and the church lengthened, so today it shows layers from several periods, from the 18th to the 20th century. For this reason it is worth viewing for those who follow the development of sacred architecture on the island.
The church is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-6439.
