The parish church of St Magdalene in Svirče stands outside the village itself. The reason is history: on the same site there was a different church much earlier.
As early as 1331 there was a church of St Elijah there, which explains the position outside the village. The patron saint was changed in 1586, and the parish was founded in 1690. The present church was built at the beginning of the 18th century as a single-nave building with a shallow square apse, beside which a sacristy and a bell room were added in the northeast. The main façade has a Baroque portal with profiled jambs and a diamond ornament at the bottom, and the lintel with a half-rounded cushion ends in an open arched pediment.
The church is a protected cultural good and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5742.
