Church of St Stephen, Rastovac

The church of St Stephen is a small village church in Rastovac near Zagvozd. It is interesting because of the medieval tombstone slabs lying in front of it.

The building is single-nave, with a rectangular ground plan and a semicircular apse, and extends in an east-west direction. On the façade is a single bell gable. It was built in 1863 on the site of an older church. In front of the entrance two slab-type stećci have been preserved, and another slab lies outside beside the northern boundary wall. These finds indicate that there may have been a medieval cemetery here.

The church is a protected cultural good and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-3845.
