The "House on the Road" in Lokva Rogoznica stands out for the reliefs that decorate its façade. Visitors can see it right by the road in the municipality of Omiš, in Split-Dalmatia County.
The stone residential and farm building of two floors was built and decorated in 1818 by Petar Knežević, a local blacksmith who also practised stonecutting. The house stands on steep terrain, so the upper floor is entered from the road, and the cellar on the ground floor by another entrance. It is built of ashlar. The façade facing the road is adorned with two rows of shallow reliefs with tools, weapons, animals, Christian symbols and a family coat of arms, beside which stands an inscription with the builder's name and the year MDCCCXVIII. On the southeast side, where the forge was, there are two more reliefs by the cellar entrance. Inside are two frescoes by the painter Josip Knežević, Petar's son.
The house is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5601.
