On a rock in the sea off Kaštel Lukšić rises the fortified summer residence Rosani. For visitors it is interesting as a rare example of a noble house that was at once a home and a defence against attacks from the sea.
In 1482 the Venetian authorities gave the Trogir nobleman Mihovil Rosani permission to build a defensive structure on the rock. A fortified residential house was created. From the arrangement of the Renaissance windows it is concluded that the ceremonial floor was on the first floor. Today the complex is surrounded by a wall on three sides: it consists of two houses in the south and a garden in the north. It is assumed that the more important alterations were carried out in the 18th century. Beside the north wall of the settlement is the church of St John, once the village parish church.
The summer residence with its little church is a protected cultural good and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-4310.
