On the seashore in Kaštel Lukšić stands the fortified summer residence of the Vitturi family, a building that was at once a country house and a fortress. For visitors it is a chance to see how the nobles on the Kaštela waterfront combined comfort and defence.
The building was erected at the turn of the 15th to the 16th century by the Trogir nobles Jeronim and Nikola Vitturi. In the south is a representative two-storey residence, and in the north a courtyard enclosed by defensive wings. The works were completed in 1564, when the wings and galleries were built. The north façade has a defensive character: it is emphasised by square corner towers and a bartizan at the level of the second floor. The ceremonial floor, the piano nobile, is on the second floor of the southern building, where the remains of three fireplaces have been preserved. A moat was dug around the building, so the sea separated the summer residence from the mainland.
The summer residence is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-4305.
