At Markovićev trg 3, in the upper town of Zagreb, stands the former palace of Ban Nikola Zrinski. For a visitor touring the Upper Town it is interesting as a reminder of one of the most famous Croatian noble families.
It is a corner single-storey building with an elongated rectangular ground plan, leaning on one side against the neighbouring construction. It was built in the 17th century. After the Zrinskis it was owned by Count Ivan Drašković, and in the 18th century by Matija Bornemisa, deputy county prefect of Zagreb County. On the ground floor the original late Renaissance portal and windows have remained, and on the west side plaster medallions have recently been restored. The carriage portal with rustic treatment also belongs to the original appearance. When the north wing was added in the 18th century, the windows on the upper floor were enlarged.
The monument is a protected cultural good and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-185.
