Resnik is a part of the City of Zagreb in its eastern section, a former village beside the Resnik forest. Visitors can see here a green area with traditional timber building.
According to written sources, Resnik appears as a church estate as early as the 13th century. The village grew beside the forest, and in the 14th century it became the seat of a parish. The now well-known parish church, dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, was built and blessed in the 17th century. The ensemble is distinguished by traditional timber building, the oldest masonry houses and the surrounding greenery. The church, the parsonage and the building of the old school stand out in particular, and three more timber ground-floor residential houses as separate cultural properties. The period of the ensemble's origin extends from the 13th to the 20th century.
The ensemble is a protected cultural property, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-2160.
