In Zagreb's Kaptol, in the City of Zagreb, at number 29 stands the Archbishop's Seminary Palace. To passers-by it shows how a church complex changed over the centuries, from the Renaissance to the end of the 19th century.
The building consists of four wings, has two floors and a high roof with sloping sides above the street. It acquired its present appearance by joining and remodelling older houses that appear in sources from the 16th century. At the core remains a late Renaissance wing whose façade has partly retained its paintings. The northern, Baroque part with one floor was built in the time of Bishop Galjuf, in the last third of the eighteenth century. The southern part received a second floor in the time of Bishop Maksimilijan Vrhovac. The eastern wing, now removed, was built in 1834 to a design by A. Stiedl. After the earthquake of 1880 the whole complex was remodelled to a design by Hermann Bollé, and the chapel in the courtyard was created then.
The palace is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-219.
