The parish Church of St Helena the Crusader is located on slightly raised ground in the centre of Zabok in Krapina-Zagorje County. Because of its position it can be seen from all approaches to the town, and for visitors it is of interest as an example of Baroque classicism in Zagorje.
It is a single-nave building with a narrower and lower sanctuary closed by a compressed apse, against which a sacristy with one upper floor is leaned. The main façade ends in a stepped (kulisni) gable and is richly articulated, with a prominent classicist portal. This portal is a rare and exceptionally fine example of classicist portals in Croatia. The interior is painted with a decorative stencil ornament, characteristic of the transition from the 19th to the 20th century. The church dates from the period from 1782 to 1827.
The church is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-2498, in the category of sacred architectural heritage.
