Church of the Holy Cross, Sveti Križ Začretje

The parish church stands on the western side of the square in Sveti Križ Začretje. In essence it is a Gothic single-nave building, later given a Baroque makeover, and it received its present appearance at the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century. On the south and north sides it has one Baroque chapel each, a bell tower was built by the south wall, and a sacristy by the sanctuary.

The main façade facing the square is designed in a classicist manner. In semicircular niches at the edges St Peter and St Paul are painted, and above them are medallions. The church contains the tombs of the Bedeković, Zabocki, Keglević, Puhakovečki and Mirkovečki families. Furnishings from the period from the 15th to the 19th century have been preserved, among which a late Gothic chalice from the 17th century stands out.

The church is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-2097.
