The Sestrica Vela - Tajer lighthouse stands on the islet of the same name northwest of Kornati and southeast of Dugi Otok. It belongs to the municipality of Sali in Zadar County, and was built to make navigation in this part of the Adriatic safer.
The lighthouse can be reached only by sea. Boats moor at a stone landing built for the needs of the lighthouse crew. The building itself dates from 1876 and stands on a plateau 47 metres above the sea. The complex consists of a main building, a tower with the lighthouse and a smaller auxiliary building. Because of its position and island isolation, it is a typical example of 19th-century Adriatic maritime infrastructure.
The lighthouse is a protected cultural good and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-6967.
