On the larger of two tiny islets at the entrance to the Korčula Channel stands the Sestrice lighthouse, built in 1871. It served as a landmark for ships passing through the Pelješac and Mljet channels.
The main building is an elongated single-storey stone building with a gabled roof. It was built in the best Korčula stonemasonry tradition, and the working of its stone parts differs substantially from the usual lighthouse keepers' houses. Leaning against the south façade is a stone tower with a lantern on top, 17 metres high. On its floors narrow openings resembling loopholes are cut, and it ends in a double stepped cornice that evokes fortifications.
The lighthouse is a protected cultural property, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code RST-1429-1996.
