The Bušelić Tower is located in Gornji Tučepi, above the hamlet of Bušelići, in the municipality of Tučepi in the Makarska area, in Split-Dalmatia County. It stands amid olive groves, so an excursion to it is a chance to get to know the defensive past of this region along with a rural landscape.
The tower was built on a raised stone knoll, which certainly gave it an important strategic position. It was built in the 17th century, at a time when the local population defended itself against the Turks by its own efforts. Its plan is rectangular. To this day it has been preserved only up to the height of the first floor, while the stone vault above the ground floor has collapsed and only traces of it remain. Experts count it among the valuable examples of defensive architecture of the Makarska area.
The Bušelić Tower is a protected cultural property and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5459. It belongs to the secular architectural heritage.
