Šumica Beach – Kaštel Stari, Kaštela

Between the villages of Kaštel Stari and Kaštel Lukšić, this beach has hidden itself away in a small pine grove. Its fitting name comes from – you've probably already guessed – the little grove (šumica) in which the beach is located. Here you have plenty of natural shade, and besides bathers, the beach is also visited by cyclists and people who go running or take part in other sports activities. The beach is spacious, extending not only along the shore but also inland. There are no excessive crowds, and everyone will find a spot for themselves. The beach is washed by a clean sea. The fine pebbles rise above the sea surface, but the beach remains accessible all the same, especially because of the shallow water that extends to about 2 metres from the shore. It is suitable for children and people who are not strong swimmers. Of course, there is also room here for skilled swimmers. It only takes a push off a few metres from the shore and they are already in deep sea. Because of the aforementioned grove, besides swimming and sunbathing, on this beach you will surely feel like taking a walk and chatting with the person next to you.
