Technical Museum - Museum of Nikola Tesla Zagreb

The Technical Museum of Nikola Tesla in Zagreb is located on the north-south highway. It is based on the existing large scientific-technical museums in the world, as the name suggests - as a specialized museum of techniques. The museum shows us the development of technical solutions that man through his history always strives to overcome space and time.

In fact, the idea of establishing this kind of museum originates from the end of the 19th century. Thus, for a time, Zagreb had a trade-craft museum, or more precisely - the history of the Technical Museum in Zagreb started back in 1954. Namely, a decision was made on its founding, and in 1959, the Museum used its premises at Savska cesta 18.

The originator and the author of the whole story about the founding of the Technical Museum in Zagreb was the University Professor Dr. Božo Težak. Later, he served as chairman of the Council of the Museum, and the realtor and first director of the Museum was Predrag Grdenić. The exhibition was made by the architect Emil Vičić, and the building was designed by Marijan Haberle.

On June 5, 2015, by a decision of the City Assembly, the then Technical Museum in Zagreb, at the proposal of the mayor of the City of Zagreb (Milan Bandic), changed its name to the Technical Museum of Nikola Tesla.
