Rural Ensemble of the Hamlet of Krug, Dugi Rat

Krug is a hamlet in the municipality of Dugi Rat, in Split-Dalmatia County, on the slopes of Mosor. For visitors it is interesting for its views toward the sea and the islands and for its neatly preserved traditional architecture.

The hamlet is a harmonious, rounded whole in which the original structure of the settlement and traditional materials have been retained. An exception are newer renovations that are not harmonized with traditional building. Special ambient value is given to the hamlet by its position on the slopes of Mosor and the view toward the sea.

A protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-6678. Krug is a good example of how a small village by the coast can be preserved as a whole, if new interventions are adapted to the old.
