Velo stražišće is a rise 298.9 m high, northeast of the Čara field and the settlement of Čara on the island of Korčula, in Dubrovnik-Neretva County. From its summit a view opens toward the southern coast and distant islands.
On top of the hill lie the remains of a prehistoric hillfort-lookout, which through collapse has taken the shape of a mound 35 m in diameter. From it a rampart runs that defends the hillfort from the south and west, adapted to the terrain, and on the east side it is lost because of the natural steepness. The position is strategically important because it completely controls the land route between the Čara field and the Dubovo plateau, that is, between the western and eastern parts of the island. The hillfort is visually connected with the hillforts on the southern coast of the central part of the island and with the islands of Lastovo and Sušac. On the hillfort and slopes remains of prehistoric pottery have been found.
The site is a protected cultural good and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-6805.
