The cathedral of St. Mary stands in the town of Rab, in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, and is the most important church of Rab's old core. Visitors come to see it for its facade, counted among the finer ones in 12th-century Dalmatia.

It is an example of monumental Romanesque architecture. The arrangement of the floor plan, the polygonal shell of the main apse and the features of several capitals suggest that the original building was built in the second half of the 5th century. It has been thoroughly renovated several times, so today it shows the features of almost all historical styles.

The cathedral is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-139.
