Spilan is a hillfort site on a rocky ridge above the village of Plat in Župa dubrovačka, in Dubrovnik-Neretva County. It served as a lookout post from which ancient Epidaurum, today's Cavtat, was watched, and the views from the ridge still attract excursionists today.
The hillfort was used as early as prehistory: on the eastern side a section of rampart about 20 m long remains, and there is much coarse pottery on the surface. Ancient ruins spread over about 2 ha, from walls that defended the area to a series of rooms, among them a cistern. In the northern part modest traces of an early Christian sanctuary were found, with two built tombs and fragments of an altar screen. The builders adapted to the scanty, sloping terrain, so traces of steps and leveling are visible. As a late antique fortress, Spilan was part of the defense of Epidaurum. The site's period lasts from the 13th century BC to the 7th century.
The site is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-6818.
