Kričak Bekavci is a hamlet in Gornja Brela, in the municipality of Brela in Split-Dalmatia County. It is interesting to visitors who want to climb from the coast into the hinterland and see what an old Dalmatian village complex looked like.
The buildings are arranged around an enclosed courtyard that was easy to defend: in it are several residential houses, among them a school, and the farm buildings lie to the north and east. The Kričak Bekavci-Ivandići complex stands out for its harmony. In the middle are two two-storey houses with gabled roofs, joined by a terrace with a masonry parapet on pilasters connected by shallow arches, and the structure is barrel-vaulted. The courtyard, paved with stone slabs, was the focus of the community. Besides the ground-floor konobe there were a grape press, an olive press and a cistern with two wellheads, and the courtyard also served social life. The complex belongs to the 19th century.
The ensemble is a protected cultural property, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5350.
