Church of St George, Brusje

The church of St George in Brusje keeps a number of valuable works of art, so it is interesting to lovers of sacred art.

The single-nave vaulted church with a rectangular apse was built in the 18th century and enlarged in the 19th, when a three-storey neo-style choir was added. In the middle of the 18th century Bishop Bonaiuti built a summer residence beside it, later the parish house. Among the works of art are a Gothic equestrian statue by an unknown author in the lunette of the main façade, an altar by T. Bokanić, and paintings by B. Zelotti and I. Dulčić. Because of this collection the church is a real little gallery, and beside it stands the summer residence converted into a parish house.

The church is a protected cultural good and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-6524.
