Kasandrić Summer Residence, Velo Grablje

The Kasandrić summer residence stands in Velo Grablje, on the promontory that closes a shallow cove from the west. It is interesting as an example of a large Hvar estate with a house, cellar and outbuildings.

The Gargurić-Kasandrić family built it in the second half of the 18th century, and it was extended in the 19th century. The centre of the complex is a large two-storey house with a courtyard, beside which ancillary rooms line up. The spacious cellar on the ground floor served the large estate that extended behind the cove. Built into the façade walls are numerous fragments from the Gothic period, which gives the house a special old-world charm.

The summer residence is a protected cultural good and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code RST-0514-1971.
