Church of St Peter the Apostle with Medieval Cemetery, Pločice

The Church of St Peter the Apostle is only a short distance from the village of Karasovići, on the southeastern edge of the Konavle field. It was once the main church of the medieval parish of Ploče. It has a rectangular ground plan with a semicircular apse, is oriented east-west, and the bell gable is shaped in the manner of rustic Baroque.

In the sanctuary there is an altarpiece with St Peter and St Paul from 1921. Next to the church is a large medieval burial ground that came into being in the 14th and 15th centuries. It holds approximately 90 stone tomb slabs, most of which still lie in their original position. Some are decorated: with a border of a triangularly arranged tendril with trefoil leaves, a bow and arrow, and rosettes with a cross.

The church with the medieval cemetery is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-4481.
