Bale Cycling Trails – Gateway to Pula, Rovinj and Poreč

Bale is an ideal place to start a cycling tour of Istria. The town is located on a hill at about 150 metres above sea level and offers kilometres of cycling trails, among which we highlight the trail to Palud Bay, home to the only ornithological park in Istria. On this 8-kilometre tour you descend all the way to the coast, so there is no climbing, making the trail ideal for beginners. For more experienced riders, there is also a trail leading to Vodnjan which is at a similar elevation to Bale, followed by a climb to Sveti Vinčenat at about 300 metres above sea level, and then a descent back to Bale. For those who want to, you can cycle to Pula which is 22 kilometres away, Poreč which is 30 kilometres away, or Rovinj which is only 15 kilometres away.
