Kopila is a rise northwest of Blato, in Dubrovnik-Neretva County, on which lie a prehistoric hillfort and cemetery. For visitors it is interesting for its views and strategic position: from this hill the western part of the island, the bay of Vela Luka and the Korčula Channel were watched.
The position also allowed control of the approaches to the Pelješac and Neretva Channels. The central plateau, the acropolis, is flat, and its backbone is a rampart about a hundred meters long, bounded at the ends by two larger mounds that served as towers. On the southern slopes the remains of dwellings of the suburb can be seen. The necropolis lies on a plateau at the foot of the hillfort, bounded by large stones and a vertical cliff that separates it from the steep terrain toward the Blato field. It consists of two large stone mounds, of which the western one has been partly explored. The zone covers the period from 400 to 31 BC.
The zone is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-6585.
