The Pločice lighthouse was built on the islet of the same name in the open sea, between Hvar, Korčula and the western cape of Pelješac. Administratively it belongs to the town of Blato in Dubrovnik-Neretva County, and because of its isolation and position it is among the more interesting Adriatic lighthouses.
It was built in 1887 as a single-storey stone building with a rectangular plan and a hipped roof. In the middle of the south façade a tower with a lantern stands out. On the ground floor the façade is opened by two windows and a door, and on the upper floor by three windows, while the shorter side façades have one window each. Profiled cornices stand above the openings, and a dividing cornice of the same kind separates the ground floor from the upper floor. The building lies on the north-western part of the island and is surrounded by a large stone courtyard. On the northern side of the island there is a slipway for boats.
The lighthouse is a protected cultural property and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code RST-1425-1996.
