Rogač is an indented bay in the middle of the northern coast of the island of Šolta, in Split-Dalmatia County. For visitors it is interesting as the old harbor of the settlement of Grohote, overgrown with pine forest, with a castle that guards the bay.
At the eastern bottom of the bay the first group of single-storey farm buildings was built. They were defended by a sturdy two-storey Baroque castle with loopholes on the facade. On the other side of the harbor stands a casella for the disinfection of ships and a net storehouse. By the beach, from where the road toward Grohote starts, the church of St. Teresa of Avila was built during the 19th century. The older houses are traditionally built, and those from the 19th century show Neoclassical traces in the arrangement of openings and in decorations. The vernacular houses of the oldest core together with the castle form the historical and architectural value, and the pine forest around the bay is part of the settlement's original natural setting.
The ensemble is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5696.
