Gradina is an archaeological site on the peninsula that closes Jelsa harbor from the east, in Split-Dalmatia County. For visitors it is interesting because a long defensive wall has been preserved on the narrowest part of the peninsula.

At the place where the peninsula joins the mainland, the wall extends from sea to sea in an east-west direction, over a length of about 180 meters. It is preserved almost along its whole length, 1.30 to 1.40 m wide and 2 to 2.5 m high. It is assumed that at Gradina there was a late antique and then a medieval fortified settlement.

A protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-6746. The site is an example of how the inhabitants of the coastal area used natural positions for defense.

Data: Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia (Ministry of Culture and Media), Open Licence; coordinates: DGU (centre of the settlement).
