Remains of Roman Buildings near Neviđane

Near Neviđane, on the island of Pašman in Zadar County, the remains of a Roman landing place lie beneath the sea. The Mirište site gives diving and archaeology enthusiasts an insight into Roman maritime infrastructure.

The site is about eight hundred metres from the settlement, and the remains lie at a depth of 3.5 metres. It is a landing place in the shape of a wide and relatively short tongue extending from the shore. Its width along the shore is 110 metres and its length 90. It was built of undressed stone. Fragments of Roman pottery are scattered over the whole area, and along the shore the remains of ancient buildings have also been preserved. The finds belong to the period from the 1st to the 4th century.

The site is a protected cultural property, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-34.
