On the Vižula peninsula near Medulin, in Istria County, lie the remains of an extensive Roman country villa. What is interesting to a visitor is that the site spreads over as much as about 600 metres in length, and at the same time hides much older traces of settlement.

In the investigations so far, individual rooms have been examined, some of which had mosaic floors. A harbour was set up on the northern and southern shores of the peninsula. On the south side graves were discovered, and on the north pottery pointing to a Neolithic settlement from the younger phase of the Early Neolithic, around 4000 BC.

A protected cultural property, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code RRI-237. The site shows that this part of the Istrian coast was inhabited for millennia before the Roman builders and for a long time after them.
