The church of St Thecla stands in the cemetery in Podgora, at the Sutikla site. It is interesting to visitors because it was damaged twice in earthquakes, and yet was faithfully rebuilt. It belongs to the municipality of Podgora in Split-Dalmatia County.
It was built on the site of a medieval building whose traces have not survived. It is first mentioned in 1626, and the great earthquake of 1667 destroyed it. At the beginning of the 18th century a Baroque church was built on the same foundations, with the year 1720 on the lintel. Single-nave, it had a barrel vault and a square apse, and on the façade a portal, a small eight-lobed rosette and a three-part bell gable. The earthquake of 1962 almost levelled it to the foundations; a simple marble altar and an altar painting remained. After archaeological research the church was rebuilt during the 1990s as a faithful replacement of the original.
The church is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-4791.
