In Bast, in the municipality of Baška Voda in Split-Dalmatia County, stands the church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, known as the church of Velika Gospa. It stands in the middle of a cemetery that also contains stećci, which gives a visitor an additional reason to stop by.
It is a single-nave building with a rectangular apse. On the main façade the door is framed by thresholds with a rod motif, above it is a round oculus window, and at the top of the gable a bell gable with three openings for bells, decorated with floral motifs. Inside is a barrel vault, and along the side walls stand marble altars of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin and of St Joseph. On the walls various phases of building can be seen.
The church is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5283. The period from 1763 to 1976 is mentioned.
