The church of St Jerome stands in the middle of the village of Veliko Brdo, on a sloping hillside above Makarska, surrounded by a wall. It is interesting as a simple example of village Baroque architecture of this area. It belongs to the town of Makarska in Split-Dalmatia County.
It was built in 1745 and renovated in 1937. It has a rectangular ground plan, with a smaller chapel beside the side façade, and is covered with a gabled roof. The façades are plastered. The main, slightly raised façade faces the steps by which one approaches from the southwest. The door frame is decorated with a rod and a cushion frieze with a flower, and ends in a profiled cornice. The design is modest, in the spirit of provincial Dalmatian Baroque, without emphasised ornament.
The church is a protected cultural good and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-4867.
