Church of Our Lady of Prizidnica and Hermitage, Slatine

The shrine of Our Lady of Prizidnica is located not far from Slatine, by the sea, beneath the steep cliffs of the southern side of the island of Čiovo. Its secluded position and view of the sea make it an interesting destination for walkers and pilgrims.

In the middle of the 16th century the shrine was founded by Poljica Glagolitic priests under the leadership of Juraj Stojdražić. The church is single-nave, with an elongated rectangular apse from the 18th century, and it keeps an icon of the Mother of God with the Child, to which miraculous power is attributed. Beside the church is a courtyard with a protective wall and a well, and to the east is a single-storey stone building that was used as living quarters.

The church and hermitage are a protected cultural good and are entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5435.
