The church of St Simeon in Zadar holds the reliquary chest of the city's patron saint, a masterpiece of Gothic goldsmithing, which makes it one of the more important destinations in the historic core. It is located in the city of Zadar, in Zadar County, and on its façades the influences of several centuries of building can be recognised.
Inside today's Baroque-style church there is almost the entire structure of an early Christian basilica with three aisles, separated by two rows of columns. Originally the patron saint was St Stephen. In 1632 a large square sanctuary was built, intended precisely for keeping the chest of St Simeon. At the beginning of the 18th century a sacristy and bell tower were added at the rear. Thus early Christian, medieval, Renaissance and Baroque elements are interwoven on the exterior, and the building period spans from the 5th to the 18th century.
The church is a protected cultural good and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-760.
