Žirje Island Beaches

The island of Žirje is located 22 kilometres south-west of Šibenik, not far from the Kornati National Park. The island is 12 kilometres long and has an area of 15 km², and its highest peak is at an altitude of 131 m. The beaches on Žirje are varied, from pebbly to rocky beaches, surrounded by a pine forest that offers natural shade. Flat stone slabs are excellent for sunbathing and for access to the water. During the winter the island has only around 100 permanent residents, and due to its distance from the mainland coast and its size, there are no crowds on the island even in summer.
