The Helfrich House in Osijek, at the corner of Keršovanijeva and Vukovarska streets, is an example of modern architecture in the town. It is located in Osijek-Baranja County, and was built from 1939 to 1941.
The single-storey residential corner building was designed by Ljudevit Pelzer, the most important Osijek architect of the modern period, for the Osijek pharmacist Franjo Helfrich. The corner is resolved by Pelzer's recognisable setting back of the volume facing Vukovarska street and a front garden, whose fence marks the meeting of two streets. Simple basic volumes with Expressionist details, a composition in motion and the treatment of the wall surfaces with profiled horizontal and vertical lines create a dynamic and harmonious whole of distinctive modern expression.
The house is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5889.
