In Osijek, in Osijek-Baranja County, at Županijska street 4 stands the Virovitica County Palace. It is interesting to visitors as a representative building of Slavonian classicism that still serves the purpose for which it was built.
The palace was built from 1834 to 1836 to plans by architect N. Hild. The ground plan is an elongated rectangle, and the main façade is symmetrical, with a conspicuous two-storey central projection. Its monumentality, richly designed details and interior rank it among the most valuable secular buildings of late classicism in the wider Slavonian region. It has retained its original appearance and its original role as an administrative building.
The palace is a protected cultural good, entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-1263.
