The Church of St Peter and St Paul, also known as the co-cathedral, is located in Osijek in Osijek-Baranja County. With a tower 90 metres high, it is one of the most recognisable buildings in the city and seems hard to miss in the picture of Osijek's panorama.
It was built in 1898 to the work of the builder F. Langenberg as a three-nave basilica with a transept. The tall main nave and lower side naves are covered with rib vaults. The building has neo-Gothic features, and a dominant accent is given to it by the stepped bell tower above the main entrance. The exterior is articulated by buttresses and a series of stone ornaments that stand out in contrast against the smooth surface of red brick. The vaults and walls of the main nave are painted in the secco technique, with motifs from the Old and New Testaments, and the author is the painter M. Rački. The church represents neo-Gothic building from the end of the 19th century.
The Church of St Peter and St Paul is a protected cultural good and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-1267.
