St Ann's Cemetery is located in Osijek, in Osijek-Baranja County, in Sv. Ane Street. It is a historic city cemetery of interest to visitors for its gravestones, and with its layout and design it bears witness to the development of the city over several centuries.
According to the data of a canonical visitation from 1754, the cemetery was already in use by then; it had been preceded by the building of a lazaretto in 1748 because of an outbreak of plague. The present arrangement of the burial plots is based on a plan from 1922. Two groups of monuments stand out. The first consists of tombs with the stylistic features of mature historicism and the Secession, decorated with sculptures by well-known artists, which together form an architectural and artistic whole. The second consists of individual gravestones by anonymous authors, notable for the quality of the craftsmanship, the chosen material and a simple expression that is in tune with the richly made monuments of the first group. As a result, the cemetery has historical, documentary and artistic value.
St Ann's Cemetery is a protected cultural good and is entered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia under the code Z-5843.
