A pleasant 10-minute walk along the promenade from the centre of Zaton lies the "Zvizda" beach (concrete, pebble), and 15 minutes away the "Šarina draga" beach (pebble).
The beaches lie in a beautiful bay that is sheltered on three sides, surrounded by hills. Because of its connection between the brackish Prukljan Lake (a natural spawning ground for fish – sea bass, mullet, eels…) and the Šibenik Bay, the sea is less salty (mixed). A beautiful view of the bay, and partly of the village, can be had from the Šibenik bridge.
The best time to visit is from May to October. The temperature at the height of the season (July, August) can reach as much as 38°C (100°F), while the sea temperature reaches a pleasant 26°C (79°F).
