House is located on the hill side, in the old village of Podaca – fresh breeze from the sea makes the whole hill side much more pleasant in summer. Stunning views to wake up to, bird song and smell of Mediterranean is all you will find there. There are no neighbours as this is the only house in the village renovated and inhabited, so it is a great place for families with children and pets. There are number of fruit trees (figs, mulberry, almonds, grapes etc) ready for picking (depending on season), there are no chemicals used to aid their growing.
House has been built, extended and renovated by every generation of the same family. For example, the owner’s grandfather added a new wing after his gold mining trip to Alaska. Current owner added her touch by adding balconies and modernizing the house. She took care of the old house and with environment in mind, by installing solar collectors and water tanks.
House is actually a line of detached traditional Dalmatian stone cottages, where extended family lived. Two of the houses are connected with an traditional open fire place accessible from both sides to create a single, spacious residence.
House has two floors. On the ground floor, there is a toilet, kitchen with dining area which flows into the living area with formal dining and sofa bed.
From this room stone stairs lead to two bedrooms (each with their own private balconies with shade), two bathrooms (each with a bathtub), and family room (second living area) with sofa bed which can be used as a third bedroom if needed.
In Bedroom 1, there is King size bed (180x200cm) and a single bed, Bedroom 2 contain Queen size bed (160x200) plus a single bed. All rooms have wardrobes and desks and chairs/armchairs.
Outdoor areas include plenty of parking – enough for 3 cars, and a terrace spanning the whole length of the house (at least 15m) with dining tables, lounges and chairs. Outdoor terrace has a natural shade provided by grape vines, as well as sunny spots. There is external shower installed in one of the old ruins, where the owner sympathetically preserved the feel of the old building.
There are excellent walking trials in all directions, as well as dirt roads perfect for mountain bikes.
