Description
Veli Rat is the westernmost village on Dugi otok, situated on a peninsula facing the bay.
Dugi otok is connected to the mainland by the Zadar – Brbinj ferry line (20NM, the boat trip takes one hour and fifteen minutes).
This beautiful house is located 0 metres from the sea! Its peaceful and quiet setting right next to the beach makes it the perfect place to relax.
2 km to the north is the Veli Rat lighthouse, the tallest on the Adriatic Sea, surrounded by beautiful beaches.
2 km to the south is the wonderful sandy beach “Sakarun”, the most beautiful beach on the Adriatic (google it and search for “Sakarun”).
Our 100m2 house consists of: 3 bedrooms (6+2 beds), 2 bathrooms and a fully equipped new kitchen with an induction cooker and a 40m2 dining room. The terrace adds another 40m2 with a barbecue. The house has: TV, Internet, air conditioning, a washing machine and a dishwasher.
The village is quiet. Within a radius of 100m there are three restaurants, a pizzeria and a shop. Every day you can buy fresh bread and pastries at the shop. It is possible to rent a boat 5 metres long with a 6 horsepower engine, kayaks and bicycles.
In Božava, 5 kilometres away, there is a diving centre, four tennis courts, a recreation centre, swimming pools, a gym, a children’s playground and many restaurants. The island is 45km long and only 1,5 – 2km wide. There are also 10 picturesque villages along the road. The island is perfect for exploring by bicycle or scooter (available for rent). The view along the island is breathtaking. In the eastern part there are the “Telaščica” Nature Park and the Kornati National Park.
You can board the fast boat from Božava to Zadar (55 minutes) and spend a few hours shopping or sightseeing in the old town and at the Sea Organ – a unique organ that produces sound as the waves crash against the land.
Zadar is a historic city and is considered one of the most beautiful cities on the Adriatic.
The house is suitable for two or even three retired couples in the period from April to June and from September to November. It is very pleasant for people who like to play bridge in a peaceful setting, in clean air and unspoilt nature.
