The Dominican monastery is located in the eastern part of the old town along the city walls.
The Dominicans founded a monastery in Dubrovnik in 1225. It is comprised of a complex of buildings, among which the church of St. Dominica, a bell tower, a cloister and three monastery wings.
We still do not know when the construction of these facilities has begun, but some data date from the 13th century. It was initially outside of the city walls, but due to its defensive importance, the Little Council in 1301 decided that it would help build aid with money and with its work.
